Music for Memory
Join this friendly, creative, music session with specialists, Liv and Frankie, using music as a therapeutic tool for people with dementia and memory loss. Using familiar music, as well as the opportunity to create songs and movement in response to the festival’s theme of Great British singers and composers, participants will love making music with our sensitive and responsive leaders. Expect a sociable and supportive atmosphere, a cup of tea to wet the whistle, all in the beautiful surroundings of Salisbury’s Guildhall.
Sounds Better CIC are based in Wiltshire and London, working musically with people with long term health conditions (particularly dementia and lung health conditions), people with learning disabilities and building intergenerational communities through music-making. Liv McLennan and Frankie Simpkins are experienced in working creatively with older people with health conditions, and using music in healthcare settings. Liv is a Co-Director of Sounds Better CIC and Frankie leads the Salisbury Breathless Singers.
